— DATE

September 2020 – April 2021

Every year, my local AIGA chapter does a poster show to wrap up the end of the summer. Inspired by music lyrics, a one-time experiment became a mild obsession. My experimental typography project challenged the boundaries of legibility, color, and visual impact, pushing design conventions to their limits.

With a natural knack for photo manipulation, the visual goal was to create something out of nothing. I started with a blank photoshop document and plain text in my favorite font.

MORE IS MORE

Digital emerged as the preferred format. It enhances color vibrancy and visual distortions in ways print cannot replicate.

INFO

I created my first experimental typography in Summer 2020. Inspired by the song Hu Man by Greentea Peng, I chose the lyric that represented my summer, and the rest is history.

Music has always been my favorite form of art. This project encouraged me to listen to more music and visualize what the songs looked like. I created 47 experimental typography assets from September 2020 to April 2021.
